Susan Crocker has held the position of Principal at Pembroke since the 2011-2012 academic year. Her career commenced in Texas, where she taught Reading and Life Science to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students as a middle school teacher. Susan also took on the responsibility of coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball. In 1998, she relocated to Michigan and taught 5th grade at Doherty Elementary in West Bloomfield. During her time there, she served as the district's Science and Math Curriculum Coordinator before returning to Doherty as Principal for nine years. Apart from her role as Principal at Pembroke, Susan actively participates in multiple district committees and frequently conducts professional development sessions for teachers district-wide. She also dedicates her efforts to mentoring new and aspiring educational leaders.
Susan obtained a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor's degree in K-8 Interdisciplinary Education with specializations in Reading & Life Science from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Outside of work, Susan and her husband, Gregg, cherish their visits with family and friends in Texas whenever possible. They are proud parents to a daughter who teaches English and coaches both swim and water polo at Clear Brook High School in Texas.
